Panoramic Management leases and manages more than 400 downtown Berkeley apartments near UC, BART, shopping and entertainment. These apartments may be rented furnished or unfurnished. Generally all leases are for one year, but some short term rentals are available.

 

All the Panoramic Management Berkeley apartments have been built since 1998, and conform to the modern seismic and fire safety standards required by the modern Uniform Building Codes in effect at the time of their construction. The Panoramic Management downtown Berkeley apartments are among the very few in Berkeley that have full sprinkler and fire alarm systems and direct links to the Berkeley Fire Department.

 

Amenities in these apartments include heated towel racks, roof decks and gardens, refrigerators, gas stoves, and microwave ovens. All apartments have free high-speed Internet connections and Cable TV.


Our downtown Berkeley apartments are generally located very near to UC Berkeley, and close to all city services and shopping, making car ownership optional, or even unnecessary. However, rental of secured off-street parking space is available in all buildings for a monthly fee.

 

Maintenance staff and resident managers are available in all these apartments on 24 hrs. a day, 7 days a week. All the entries to the apartments have 24 hours video recording, as well as closed circuit video entry systems.

Housing in Berkeley

 

Rental housing stock in the City of Berkeley fell from 28,566 units in 1970 to 24,512 units in 19901 , largely through the conversion of rental apartments units to owner occupied dwellings, and from the removal of apartment units from the marketplace. Between 1980 and 1999 Berkeley was the only city in the Bay Area to actually reduce its housing supply, experience a net loss of 115 units.2

 

The housing stock in the City of Berkeley is also comparatively old. The median age of the typical housing unit is 62 years old.3

After many years of almost no private sector activity in apartment construction, the City has seen a revival of sorts of rental apartment construction, though these modern developments constitute a small percentage of the available rental housing.

 

According to the city permit records, The Berkeleyan Apartments, a 56 unit project completed in 1998, was the first new apartment rental project in the Downtown area, by a private developer, since World War II.
